GIRLS ON THE RUN
One girl put it this way, "I learned that I am the boss of my brain." Girls on the Run inspires girls to take charge of their lives and define the future on their terms. It’s a place where girls learn that they can. No limits. No constraints. Only opportunities to be remarkable.
Girls on the Run is our national philanthropy that we are proud to support.
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activated her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. It works to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through dynamic, interactive lessons and running
games, culminating in a celebratory 5k race.
We support GOTR all year through our philanthropy events, participation at the celebratory 5k and assistance at weekly GOTR practices.
MOONBALL
Moonball is Gamma Phi Beta's national philanthropy event that raises money for Girls on the Run. Last year, our moonball event was a volleyball tournament that all chapters on campus competed in.
SPAGAMMI
Spagammi is one of our favorite yearly philanthropy events! We invite all students on campus to the Gamma Phi Beta house for pasta, desert, and prizes, all while raising money for Girls on the Run!
WATERMELON BASH
Watermelon Bash is a co-sponsored philanthropy event that all chapters on campus compete in to raise money for Girls on the Run and Feeding America.
UDANCE
UDance is a 12 hour dance marathon at the University of Delaware that raises funds throughout the year to support the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation for children with pediatric cancer. Last year, our chapter raised over $70,000!
Eta Gamma is fortunate enough to have a B+ hero named Lilly. Lilly is an 11 year old spunky girl who never fails to bring a smile to the faces of her sisters. Lilly teaches us all to be brave and never stop fighting. Throughout the year, we have the opportunity to bring Lilly to our Gamma Phi Beta home and spend time with our favorite sister!
